Board of Directors Candidate Guidelines

The requirements for serving on the Board of Directors are:

  • Candidates for the TAWPI International Board of Directors must be members in good standing of the association.
  • Prior to being considered for nomination, each candidate must fully complete and return a Prospective Board Member Referral form.
  • The term of office for an elected Director is three years. The term of office begins on the first day of the fiscal year of the association following election.
  • Board service is a volunteer effort and is without compensation beyond specific expenses described below.
  • Board members attend four meetings per year, one of which is held in conjunction with the annual Forum. Board meetings are generally scheduled one year in advance and held within the continental United States.
  • During the tenure of their term, Directors are expected to be willing to volunteer to serve at least one year in an Officer Position when necessary.
  • Candidates must have the full support of their employer in regards to the duties and responsibilities of the office. Upon request, candidates must provide written confirmation of their employer's commitment to support the time requirements, travel and related expenses.
  • It is the responsibility of the Director and/or their employer to pay for airfare, travel and miscellaneous expenses associated with Board of Directors meetings.
  • Upon nomination, candidates must provide a written biography and photograph for inclusion in the ballot and related publications.
  • Registration fees for the annual Forum are waived for current members of the Board of Directors. Newly elected Directors registration fees are waived for the Forum during their official term of office.
