The Information Capture Professional Handbook represents the primary body of knowledge for the credential. The examination is not based on memorization of the information contained in the handbook, but rather a combination of familiarity with the knowledge areas and practical work experience. Candidates are responsible for demonstrating knowledge defined by the content outline. ICP candidates will receive one copy of the ICP Handbook and one copy of the Glossary of Terms as study resources.
Interested parties may purchase study materials only (the ICP Handbook) for a fee to be established by TAWPI, plus shipping and handling. If the party subsequently decides to register for the ICP examination, the full, currently effective test registration fee will apply, and an additional handbook will be distributed to the candidate.
TAWPI recommends the following resource materials (available from TAWPI) when preparing for the exam:
The ICP Candidate will be tested on a body of knowledge which has been broken down into seven dimensions as described here. While the ICP Handbook provides a broad range of information, test questions will be taken from other sources as well. The topics listed beneath each dimension title are covered in varying degrees of depth in the Handbook.
