As businesses and industries learn to embrace changes in the payments industry, today's remittance processing professionals and solutions providers require information that is current and relevant to our changing environment.
To help address these challenges, The Association for Work Process Improvement (TAWPI) and Dove Consulting have conducted a Remittance Processing Benchmarking Study.

The final report, includes benchmarking data from more than 100 remittance processing sites. The study reports on current and future trends in mail and remittance processing and examines the productivity and cost of processing payments through an analysis of various functions within remittance operations.

Data in the report includes:
  • Benchmarking data from more than 100 remittance processing sites
  • Participants from banking, utilities, telecommunications, insurance, credit card, state government, wholesale and retail lockboxes

Get critical information on:
  • Equipment and suppliers used across various functions

  • Inbound mail volume, staffing and paid hours

  • Processes that are used to perform the work including ACH, ARC, and check imaging

  • Plans and priorities for the next two years

  • And much more!

Wave One Trends and Opinions Survey Results

The following report summarizes the results from the responses that we received from the remittance processing professionals to the Wave One Trends and Opinions Survey in June 2005:
  • Remittance processors are generally satisfied with the performance of their operations, but they also identify a number of areas where processors see challenges and opportunities to improve;

  • Error rates are trending down;

  • Unit costs are up for some processors and down for others;

  • Cost pressures and efficiency improvements continue to challenge the industry;

  • There are a number of areas where respondents report opportunities for productivity improvement, such as increasing efficiencies, Check 21/imaging opportunities, ARC/ACH, and improved software;

  • Investment in new systems will be driven by cost saving opportunities and new requirements for ARC and Check 21.
