Pamela Garrett

Garrett Consulting Group

Pamela Garrett began her career in the payment industry in 1985 with BellSouth. As a programmer in the Cash/Billing IT group, she was responsible for the daily posting of the cash files from the nine BellSouth remittance centers. In 1990, Pamela moved from programming to technical support of the remittance centers. By 1994, BellSouth had consolidated to two remittance centers and in 1996, they upgraded from read and key to two-pass image technology.

Garrett's experience at BellSouth taught her that remittance centers operate under tight budgets and production deadlines that offer little room for error. In 1998, she left BellSouth and founded Garrett Consulting Group as an independent firm specializing in payment remittance. That same year, she joined TAWPI National and has grown Garrett Consulting Group through the networking opportunities available with her TAWPI membership. By becoming an active volunteer on various councils and committees, Pamela has enjoyed exposure to a wide range of industry contacts and events
