Volunteer Opportunities
Have you ever thought of contributing your knowledge and talents to TAWPI? By volunteering through TAWPI, you can put your skills to work in ways that are rewarding, educational and fun, and you can achieve recognition in the eyes of your peers.
TAWPI committees are the places where TAWPI's work gets accomplished and where new ideas are generated. There are short-term and long-term commitments for you to take on in the following committees:

Board of Directors
As a TAWPI Director, you become an integral part of the future of TAWPI. Board members offer leadership and strategic management skills to help in growing TAWPI membership and revenue. Participating as a volunteer offers a unique perspective on your industry, and a sense of reward and fulfillment. You'll also gain both educational and professional experience while benefiting from valuable industry networking

Commitment: TAWPI Board meetings are held three times per calendar year, with at least one meeting via conference call. Terms are three years with a maximum of two terms. Board members are expected to be present at meetings and participate fully in discussions and dialogue.
Qualifications:
- Candidates for the TAWPI International Board of Directors
must be members in good standing of the association.
- Prior to being considered for nomination, each candidate
must fully complete and return a Prospective Board Member
Referral form.
- The term of office for an elected Director is three years.
The term of office begins on the first day of the fiscal
year of the association following election. Board service
is a volunteer effort and is without compensation beyond
specific expenses described below.
- Board members attend four meetings per year, one of which
is held in conjunction with the annual Forum. Board meetings
are generally scheduled one year in advance and held within
the continental United States.
- During the tenure of their term, Directors are expected to be willing to volunteer to serve at least one year in an Officer Position when necessary.
- Candidates must have the full support of their employer in
regards to the duties and responsibilities of the office.
Upon request, candidates must provide written confirmation
of their employer's commitment to support the time requirements,
travel and related expenses. It is the responsibility of
the Director and/or their employer to pay for airfare, travel
and miscellaneous expenses associated with Board of Directors
meetings.
- Upon nomination, candidates must provide a written biography
and black and white photograph for inclusion in the ballot
and related publications.
- Registration fees for the annual Forum are waived for current
members of the Board of Directors. Newly elected Directors
registration fees are waived for the Forum during their official
term of office.
- TAWPI will pay for the cost of room and tax for the duration
of any Board of Director's meeting. Group meals and meals
incidental to the meeting are also paid for by TAWPI. (Newly
elected Director's room and tax are paid commencing with
the first Board of Director's meeting following their election

Chapter Leadership
Individuals who volunteer for chapter leadership help develop
programs and services that help enhance chapter programs,
meetings and services as well as assist in retention and
recruitment of chapter membership. Chapter leaders will exchange
ideas, gain knowledge and help shape future programs and
activities for the industry.
Qualifications: Volunteer candidates for
chapter presidency must be TAWPI members in good standing. Candidates
should have several years' experience of cutting-edge knowledge
in the field of data entry, data management, forms processing,
remittance processing, electronic commerce, Internet-related
applications, or knowledge management. Committee members
must be prepared to identify areas of particular interest
to professionals in the industry and be able to suggest possible
speakers.
Commitment: This committee
requires a fairly significant commitment. Individuals should be able to commit
to several conference calls throughout the year as well as participate in local
chapter meetings and a face to face meeting at the annual Forum and Expo.

Membership Committee
The Membership Committee works closely with the Board of Directors and TAWPI staff to increase the number of TAWPI members across all categories (e.g., individual, affiliate, local), and to ensure the retention of these members through offering services that meet their needs. To meet these initiatives, the committee assists in the implementation of the Membership Marketing Plan which consists more specifically of organizing and implementing specific membership campaigns, periodically conducting surveys to the membership and assisting in the analysis and implementation of the results into member benefits, analyzing membership and tracking data relevant to the recruitment and retention of TAWPI members and preparing and presenting progress and update reports of all membership activity to the Board of Directors at meetings throughout the year.
Qualifications: Volunteer candidates for the membership committee must be TAWPI members in good standing. Candidates should have several years' experience of cutting-edge knowledge in the field of remote deposit capture, payments automation or imaging & forms processing.
Commitment: This committee requires individuals be able to commit to several conference calls throughout the year. Committee members are also expected to be available for projects involving membership recruitment. Face-to-face meetings will be held on an as-needed basis as projects evolve.
Certification Committee
Members of this committee play a key role in developing and implementing the strategic plan for enhancing TAWPI's professional certification and determining a need for new professional certification programs in areas such as remittance processing.
Qualifications: Candidates must be TAWPI members in good standing and must be ICP certified. Individuals
must have in-depth knowledge of data management, data capture, forms processing,
or remittance processing. Individuals with writing and editing skills are
also needed. Members that wish to work on the ICP certification program
must have the ICP designation.
Commitment: This committee requires a fairly significant commitment. Volunteers
will meet several times via conference call and may meet a few times in
person. Volunteers should be able to commit to a year of service - continuity
throughout the life of a project on this committee is important. Click here for more information regarding ICP.
Forums & Expo Committee
Members of this committee help shape the educational content
of TAWPI's annual Forums and Expo by developing a detailed
education strategy, selecting sessions and identifying speakers
that accomplish the overall
Forums objectives. Sessions and
speakers are selected by reviewing the presentations that
have been submitted to TAWPI or by designing sessions and
targeting specific industry experts. Committee members also
assist in formulating the marketing strategy for the event.
Qualifications: Volunteer candidates must be TAWPI members in
good standing. Candidates should have several years' experience
of cutting-edge knowledge in the field of remote deposit capture, payments automation, or imaging & forms processing.
Committee members must be prepared to identify areas of particular
interest to professionals in the industry and be able to suggest
possible speakers.
Commitment: The committee will meet in the late spring prior
to the
Forum (which usually occurs in July or August) and will
meet several times via conference call throughout the fourteen
months prior to the Forum. Committee members receive one complimentary
registration to the Forum (non-transferable). Additional fees
for seminars, site tours, and other events, travel and hotel

Nominating
Committee
This committee is chaired
by the Immediate Past Chair of the TAWPI Board of Directors. Its
purpose is to nominate the new slate of TAWPI Directors and Officers
for the upcoming year and assist in determining winners of the
Hall of Fame Award.
Qualifications: Individuals must be TAWPI members in good standing
to serve on this committee. Individuals may not be nominated
to the Board of Directors in the year they serve on this committee.
Commitment: Work on this committee begins at in the spring to determine the Hall of Fame Award winners and
continues throughout the year to determine Board of Directors nominations. Meetings are held via conference call, however, nominating committee members are encouraged to attend the Hall of Fame Award ceremony as well as the Annual Business Meeting.
